NEW CHAIR AT NAFC MARINE CENTRE

At yesterday’s (Monday 10 October) meeting of its management board, the Board of Trustees appointed Ertie Nicolson as Chair.  Ertie replaces Iris Hawkins who had been Chair since 2007.

Commenting on his appointment, Ertie Nicolson said: “I am very pleased to have been appointed Chair.  These are exciting times for the whole seafood industry and it is good to be part of that; supporting the sector both now and for the future.

“My role will also include supporting the highly qualified staff at the Centre who work hard and offer an invaluable service to our maritime industries.”

Professor David Gray, director of the NAFC Marine Centre, added: “We are delighted that Ertie Nicolson has taken on this new role.  Here at the Centre, we are absolutely committed to listening to industry and continuing to ensure they receive the support they need in order to grow and be successful.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Iris Hawkins for her hard work and contribution to the NAFC throughout the years and wish her the very best for the future.”
